IMAAN INDIA SAMMAN were established in 2012 by Aavishkar Media Group, a prominent name in Indian Broadcasting, Media & CATV Industry since 1993. This was established with the aim of recognising and celebrating the challenging work of those people who are catalyst in social reforms and striving to bring a significant change in community and society. This platform will be highlighting the good work they do and inspire others to follow their footsteps.

Mr Sandeep Mittal
Job Titles: IPS Officer

A 1995 batch IPS officer, Mr Sandeep Mittal had a brief stint as University Lecturer in Environmental Science and Technology at Kurukshetra University. As a Police Officer he served in communally sensitive districts of Tamilnadu, e.g., Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Karur, Chengai East, Chennai City, Dindigul, Theni, Ramnad and Sivagangai etc. He was heading the Security of Asia-Pacific’s largest prison i.e. Tihar Prisons, New Delhi from 1999 to 2002. While serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dindigul Range, he engineered peaceful conduct (first time since 1991) of Vinayagar Chaturthi Procession through Begambur Mosque. The Muslims welcomed Vinayagar at Begumbur Mosque Gate for the first time in the history of Dindigul.
